Board Chairperson

Prof Mori is a respected academic in the field of finance. She is an associate professor at the Department of Finance of the University of Dar es Salaam Business School and she holds a PhD in Finance from the University of Agder, Norway, MBA (Finance) and B. Com (Finance) from the University of Dar es Salaam.

She has over 20 years of experience in teaching, research and consultancy in areas of corporate finance, small business finance, corporate governance, microfinance and entrepreneurship.

Prof Mori has participated in various international courses and conferences on entrepreneurship, microfinance, corporate governance, women entrepreneurship, international strategy, business planning, consultancy skills, adult training and project management. She has undertaken research and consulting assignments for various agencies such as the International Labour Organization, Financial Sector Deepening Trust Fund, Business Environment Strengthening for Tanzania, International Fund for Agriculture Development and the Research for Poverty Alleviation. She has published extensively in various internationally recognized academic journals.

Prof Mori sits on the boards of several institutions in Tanzania. She is a member of the University of Dar es Salaam Academic Staff Assembly (UDASA), Centre for Research on Social Enterprises and Microfinance (CERSEM), European Microfinance Research Network (EMRN).

 

 

Board Member

Eng. Bokango holds a Master’s Degree in Aviation Management from Concordia University in Canada, majoring in Air Transport Economics, Airline Management and Strategic Management. He also holds a Bachelor of Engineering Degree from India’s University of Mysore.

His working career has involved various positions in Tanzania and abroad, including several years with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) in Montreal, Canada. in Tanzania he was the permanent representative of Southern African Development Community (SADC) states to the ICAO and Permanent Representative of Tanzania on the council of ICAO. He has over 30 years’ experience in aviation policies and standards, strategic planning and management of aviation systems.

He is also registered with the Engineers Registration Board (ERB) and is a member of the Institution of Engineers Tanzania (IET) and the International Airport Professionals (ACI – ICAO).

 

 

Board Member

Dr. Kiure is an assurance Partner at the Tanzania office of global business management Ernst & Young (EY). In 2009, she became the first female Partner among the Big-4 audit firms in Tanzania. She completed her Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exams in 1999, whilst in her third year of Advanced Diploma in Accountancy at the Institute of Accountancy Arusha.

She has a PhD in Business Administration and an MBA in Finance both from the University of Dar es Salaam.

Dr. Kiure is certified as a company Director and a trainer of Corporate Governance by the Commonwealth Association of Corporate Governance. She has also been a Certified Information Systems Auditor by the Information System Audit and Control Association since 2006. She obtained her ACCA Diploma in International Financial Reporting in 2007, and Certified Basel II Professional from Basel II Compliance Professionals Association in March 2012. Furthermore, she obtained her Certificate in Leading Professional Service Firms from Harvard Business School in 2012.

Dr. Kiure has served in various professional capacities over the years. She has been a member of the Global International Public Sector Accounting Standards Board, the IPSASB Consultative Advisory Group, the African Professionalization Initiative’s Interim Academic Advisory Council and is a founding member of the Tanzania Association of Women Accountants (TAWCA). She was also the vice-chairperson of the National Board of Accountants and Auditors from 2014 to 2021.

Dr. Kiure has worked with Ulc (Tanzania) Limited as chief accountant, PwC as an auditor and Diamond Trust Bank (T) Limited as finance and administration manager.

The Tanzanian government and public entities have also called on her skills in ensuring compliance with International Public Sector Accounting Standards.

 

 

Board Member

Mr. Njawa has a Master’s of Science Degree in Air Transport Management from the City College of London, in the UK. He joined the Aviation industry as a Maintenance Engineering Cadet in 1974 and worked extensively within the Ministry of Transport and Communication and the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar. He has worked with the Tanzania Government Flight Unit with clients that have included VIPs, Presidents, Vice-Presidents and Prime Ministers.

John was instrumental in establishing the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar’s Flight Unit, working with it on many occasions.

From 1983, he served in the then Directorate of Civil Aviation in the Ministry of Transport and Works before it was transformed to the Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA) in 1999. He rose through the ranks to become Director of Safety Regulations in 2007 responsible for Leadership and Strategic Management in total safety oversight of the Aviation Industry in Tanzania up to retirement in 2014.

He was involved in the establishment of the EAC Civil Aviation Safety and Security Oversight Agency (CASSOA). The agency’s broad remit includes safety regulations in aerodrome standards, flight operations, airworthiness, air traffic control, cabin crew personnel, parachute and skydiving operations, aerial work and drone operations. His work was integral to bringing together the EAC partner states to common aviation safety implementing regulations in compliance to ICAO Standards and Practices under the auspices of the East African Community.

Since retirement from the Civil Service, he has been actively engaged in the provision of Aviation related consultancy services.

 

Board Member

Lt. Col. Ally is a retired member of the Tanzania Peoples’ Defense Forces. Currently he owns and runs a four-star hotel in Zanzibar.

He joined the Tanzania Peoples’ Defense Force in 1970, where he trained in China as a Fighter Pilot and served in the Army for several years, rising to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel before retirement in 2001. He also trained in the U.S.A, where he obtained his Airline Transport License.

During his years of service, he was seconded to the Zanzibar Presidential flights as a Pilot. He also has a vast experience in the tourism and hospitality industries as a result of running his successful hotel.

 

 

Board Member

Mr. Mussa has a Master’s Degree in International Tourism Management from Sheffield Hallam University in the UK. He has also attended several courses related to tourism, marketing, management and governance.

He has served extensively in the Tanzanian Government and its Institutions where he rose to the position of Director of Tourism in the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism. He was later made a Director of Tourism and Marketing at Tanzania National Parks (TANAPA). After 37 years in the Civil Service, he is now a Freelance Consultant and is in his second term as a member of Tanzania Tourism Board.

 

 

Company MD & CEO

Eng. Ladislaus Matindi, is a master’s degree holder in Telecommunication Engineering and MBA degree in International Business. Currently, he works with Air Tanzania Company Limited (ATCL) as Managing Director and CEO of Air Tanzania Company Limited (ATCL). Prior to joining the ATCL, he was the CEO of the EGNOS Africa Joint Programme Office (JPO), a regional structure created to coordinate the deployment of the European Union GNSS/EGNOS services in Africa with its headquarters in Dakar, Senegal. He also served various aviation industry related to Management and Functional positions at the East African Community (EAC) Secretariat and in Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority. He is a well-known in aviation professional through his participation in EAC, SADC, COMESA, AFCAC, AU, USA, EU, and ICAO aviation related programmes.

 

Company Secretary

John Nzunda is the Head of Legal and Company Secretary of the Air Tanzania Company Limited. He is a graduate from university of Dar es Salaam with a Bachelor and master Degree of law major in International Business, Finance and Investment Laws. He has worked for about thirteen years as a legal practitioner in the public sector and has vast experience in Labour laws, contract negotiation and management, Litigation, Board secretarial services, dispute resolution, industrial relations as well as a wide array of management issues.
